The Carnegie Public Library Readers of the Week are PK Harper and her son, Sammy Harper, 5-years-old.

Tell me about reading to your child: I read to Sammy everyday. We both love spending time together curled up with a good book.

What is your favorite book to read aloud? Sammy loves Bad Kitty by Nick Bruel and Tacky the Penguin by Helen Lester. The pictures and the stories make him laugh.

How do you and your child make reading selections? Sammy is home-schooled, so I try to find books based on the lessons I am teaching. We order the books on the library website and I pick them up when they arrive. For pleasure, Sammy likes to find books on the shelf at the library.

What book have you read a million times to Sammy? Bark, George by Jules Feiffer

Do you have a special reading time/place? In our rocking chair, or at bedtime.

When you get a chance to read for yourself, what do you to read? Anything by Nicholas Sparks or Karen Kingsbury.
