White Fence Gallery offers new class

Black eyed Susan’s, bluebells and a summery meadow will be featured in the new painting class offered at White Fence Gallery from 6:30 until 8 p.m. on July 18 and 25. Master artist Tom Clemens will return again to teach artist of all experience levels to create this beautiful painting for their own homes or for a special gift. Compassionate Friends to meet

The Compassionate Friends of Fayette County will hold their monthly support group for bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings on Thursday, July 20 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Medical Arts Building #2 classroom, 1510 Columbus Ave. in Washington C.H., located on the Fayette County Memorial Hospital campus. Red Cross Blood Drive to be held

A Red Cross Blood Drive will be held Friday, July 21 at the Fayette County Fair (Bus) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. To schedule an appointment, contact 1-800-RED CROSS or visit www.redcrossblood.org. Or walk in the day of the drive. All donors receive a buy one get one admission pass to the Columbus Zoo.

MT Class of 1972 to hold reunion

The Miami Trace Class of 1972 will hold its 45-year reunion on Saturday, July 22 at the Crown Room at The Rusty Keg restaurant in Washington C.H. Social hour will begin at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. Reservations are needed by July 1. For more information, contact Mike Bentley at 937-675-2003.

Fayette/Madison County PERI to meet

The Fayette/Madison County Chapter of O.P.E.R.I. will hold its bimonthly meeting Wednesday, July 26 at 12:30 p.m. at the Fayette County Commission on Aging, 1179 S. Elm St. in Washington C.H. There will be a table reserved for those who would like to come prior to the meeting for lunch at 11:30 a.m. For lunch reservations, call the FCCOA at 740-335-2159. The speakers will be Bob Peterson of Senate District 17, which includes Clinton, Fayette, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Pike and Ross counties, as well as portions of Lawrence Pickaway and Vinton counties, and Gary Scherer, representative of the 92nd House District, which includes Fayette County and portions of Pickaway and Ross counties.

United Way looking for Hometown Heroes

The United Way has a motto of “Living United.” Do you know someone who “Lives United” by serving others, serving our community, sacrificing to put others first? The United Way of Fayette County is now accepting nominations for our 2017 Hometown Hero celebration. Now is the time to recognize and thank those individuals who are serving this community and making Fayette County a great place to live. The United Way is again honored to host this event and hope you will take the time to nominate an individual who deserves a thank you for what they do for our community. Stop by the United Way office, located at 101 E. East St., or the Record-Herald, located at 757 W. Elm St. to pick up a nomination form. Armco Reunion to be held Aug. 4

The ninth Armco Reunion will be held Friday, Aug. 4 at the American Legion Post 25 in Washington C.H. The social hour will begin at 5 p.m. with the picture taken at 6:15 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $15 per person and is open to retirees and former employees only.

Blood drive to be held at GUMC

The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive at the Grace United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Tues., Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

MT Class of 1967 to hold 50-year reunion

The Miami Trace High School Class of 1967 will be holding their 50th reunion Aug. 11-13. WHS Class of 1951 to hold 66th reunion

The Washington High School graduating class of 1951 will be holding their 66th class reunion on Aug. 12 at the Staunton Fellowship Hall, 4806 US Route 62 Southwest, Washington C.H. Registration is at 12:30 p.m. and the buffet at 1 p.m. Please send your reservation in before July 22. As to the cost and where to send check, please refer to your letter. MT Class of 1977 to hold 40-year reunion

The Miami Trace Class of 1977 40-year reunion will be held Saturday, Aug. 19 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Paul E. Hughey Post 25 American Legion Event Center. No invitations will be sent out; only announced by word of mouth, local media and social media.
