Deer Creek Daisies enjoy outing

A fun outing was recently enjoyed by the Deer Creek Daisies garden club.

The early morning started with delicious blueberry and applesauce crumb muffins baked by Alli Knecht. The carpool then hit the road traveling to Xenia fairgrounds to check out the Zinnia Days. Two buildings were packed with many vendors selling food items, clothes, jewelry, flowers, house plants, just to name a few.

One of the group’s favorite displays was the JuJu Plant Co. The owner, Lindsey Swingler, converted a bus into a mobile plant store. How unique! The bus was packed full of plants of all kinds and varieties Check it out on her site JUJUPLANTCO.COM. She will also be attending a few farmers markets where you might see her there. Check out her schedule online. Lindsey was so kind to take our group picture in front of her bus and plant display.

A brief meeting was then held at Nick’s Restaurant where we enjoyed a wonderful lunch, visiting and catching up on everyone’s busy lives. We will be taking a break the next two months so all of us can watch our grandkids and friends at several county fairs and the state fair. Wishing all of you the best of luck with your projects.
