Simple, sweet Rice Krispie Treats

By Lou Ann Thompson - Country Cooking

Hello! With my garden keeping me busy this time of year, I don’t have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen making elaborate desserts, but we still like something sweet.

I always turn to a quick and easy simple little recipe that just hits the spot as a sweet treat. Everybody seems to like this, and it disappears quickly. Also, it’s a nice little lunch treat for your little ones that’s heading back to school.

Rice Krispie Treats

-Nonstick cooking spray

-3 Tablespoons butter

-1 (10oz) pkg miniature marshmallows

-1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

-6 cups rice krispies cereal

Directions

Spray a 13-by-9 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.

Melt butter in a large saucepan on low heat, add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.

Add peanut butter. Stir until well blended. Add cereal. Stir until well coated. Press into prepared pan. Cool completely. Cut into desired pieces.
