The descendants of James Hiram Massie (1872-1924) and Letha Adrian Spears Massie (1876-1938) met on Sunday, Aug. 12 for the 68th-annual Massie Family Reunion.

The reunion was co-hosted by cousins Cathy Massie White and Pamela Holbert Kingery at the Kingery country home near Milledgeville. Family members enjoyed a carry-in picnic lunch under canopy tents on a beautiful summer day while sharing family stories, history, and pictures old and new. The winner of the annual raffle drawing was Lisa Massie. Melissa and Eric Taynor were the winning team of the annual cornhole tournament and recipients of the revolving trophies.

Many of the adults and children enjoyed the grab bag bingo with the many prizes played in the afternoon. A special guest for the day was Victor Vermillion, a cousin found through mutual genealogy study by both Victor and Cathy Massie White. Victor is related to the Massie family from their roots in Lawrence County, Ohio. Victor lives in Florida and was visiting in Ohio doing family research.
