Fayette County Memorial Hospital employees Nancy Troutman (FCMH auxiliary liaison), Tammie Wilson, Whitney Gentry, Beth Rinehart, Jennifer Whitaker and Brooke Moats recently visited the FCMH Auxiliary volunteer members to celebrate the Volunteer Recognition Day.

Lots of goodies and gifts were given to the volunteers to celebrate this day. There was much discussion about activities happening around Fayette County Memorial Hospital. Several new providers will be added to the staff. The surgical area and emergency room are being updated. Oncology services will be moving back. The hospital is trying to manage a new mobile unit to bring people to the hospital.

The group presented a request to have the auxiliary purchase an ophthalmology chair and a Quick Rinse Instrument System. The auxiliary voted to buy both items for the ophthalmology department.

Carolyn Reinwald, auxiliary president, called the regular meeting together. Jeanne Immell gave the secretary’s report. Patsy Stevens gave the treasurer’s report. Jean Ann Davis gave the gift shop report. All reports were accepted as given.

The scholarship committee reported that three students have been chosen. Carolyn told the group that they lost member Roberta Bowers, a long-time member. A decision was made to send a donation to her church.
