Patients coming to Fayette County Memorial Hospital (FCMH) in Washington Court House for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans have a new reason to be excited. FCMH will begin providing enhanced MRI services via a Toshiba Titan 1.5T wide-bore scanner starting in late August.

The new MRI and advanced digital imaging technology gather multiple images simultaneously allowing the physicians and radiologist to see more in nearly half the time. This allows for increased scanning speeds and shorter exam times which will enhance the overall experience for patients.

The state-of-the-art equipment, furnished in partnership with Captive Radiology, provides excellent image quality, expanded clinical capabilities, and offers patients a more comfortable experience. The Toshiba Titan MR is installed in the Surgery Center of the hospital, which will provide patients a more pleasant clinical environment. The current MRI trailer, which is visible from Columbus Avenue will be removed.

Ultimately, this means better patient care in Fayette County.

“The new MRI scanner gives us one of the most cutting-edge pieces of MRI equipment on the market today,” said Whitney Gentry, leader of business development for FMCH. “With this system, we have an MRI that allows us to deliver the most comfortable imaging experience to our patients. Through the many advanced technical features on the system, we anticipate a higher patient comfort and better clinical outcomes.”

Fayette County Memorial Hospital is a critical access hospital (25-bed hospital) with over 30 healthcare providers, complete with a full spectrum of healthcare services.
