The American Red Cross blood drive held on Oct. 13 at the Grace United Methodist Church was a success.

The donors came through and the goal was exceeded with 68 units. This drive has several regular donors like Steve and Judy Jennings. Steve has given blood 100 times and Judy has given 32 times.

Weade Llc. Realtors and Auctioneers sponsored not only this blood drive, but the August blood drive as well. This donation makes it possible for the drive to serve lunch. Anyone interested in sponsoring a blood drive, contact Miracle Holsinger at (740) 437-7106. Cookies were donated by the First Presbyterian Church and Professional Home Economics. Volunteers for the canteen and registration were May Johnson, Shirley McDonald, Barb Zoosma, Luella Puckett, Joyce Lott, Marlene Rankin and Miracle Holsinger. Special thank you to Miriam Ingles for overseeing the cookie donations each drive.

Katie Bottorff, account manager for the Central Ohio Region, and Wendy Yarbrough, recruitment manager, were on hand to promote the new exciting change coming called Rapid Press. Donors will be able to do part of the registration process at home to speed up the process by 15 minutes when they arrive at the blood drive.

Flyers were handed out to donors explaining how. This new change will be used at the next blood drive on Dec. 8. Donors are not required to use the new Rapid Pass system if they do not want to.
