Fayette County Memorial Hospital (FCMH) Women’s Wellness Center is pleased to announce the start of a new program for women who need to see a gynecologist, but don’t have an appointment. Walk-In Wednesdays start May 9 at the 1510 Columbus Ave., Washington C.H. location from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Patients will be able to be seen by Dr. Cynthia Morris and Emily Stephens, C.N.P., for a variety of issues. While annual women’s wellness exams and pap smears will not be available, patients may schedule those appointments at their visit.

“We are so excited to offer quick access to the Women’s Wellness Center at Fayette County Memorial Hospital in MAB 2 with Walk In Wednesday. You can come in to be seen at the Women’s Wellness Center with any urgent female problems or concerns without an appointment. We will be seeing women for vaginal discharge, STD testing, UTI testing and other urgent issues so they don’t have to wait for a regular scheduled appointment. No one wants to wait three weeks when they think they have a yeast infection. Now women can walk in to the Women’s Wellness Center and be seen,” said Dr. Morris.

The FCMH Women’s Wellness center opened in 2015 to better serve women in Fayette County. The center features a full-time gynecologist, full time radiologist, digital mammography services, ultrasounds and dexa scans for bone density, as well as hosting support groups for breast cancer patients and survivors and for women experiencing menopause. A partnership between the center, the FCMH Foundation, Partners in Pink and several local businesses helps provide massage therapy, yoga and meditation to breast cancer patients.
