Community invited to Diabetes Holiday Dinner

Fayette County Memorial Hospital (FCMH) and Fayette County Diabetes Association (FCDA) invites the community to attend The Diabetes Holiday Dinner on Monday, Nov. 6 at Southern State Community College Washington Court House Campus (1270 US Rte. 62 SW).

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

The evening will feature a delicious dinner, door prizes, entertainment, diabetes education materials and more. Diabetes patients, family members and friends are encouraged to attend.

“I hope you will join us for a fun-filled evening,” said Mary Dye, RN C.D.E “My goal with this event is for attendees to educate themselves about the disease and experience a delicious, portion controlled holiday dinner.”

The event is free to attend and open to the public. Reservations are required due to limited seating. Call Mary Dye, RN C.D.E (certified diabetic educator) at 740-333-2954.

Diabetes is a disease in which blood glucose levels are above normal and can cause serious health complications if not controlled. FCMH provides free diabetes education classes on the third Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Classes are held in Medical Arts Building 2, Conference Room (1510 Columbus Ave.).
