Community invited to Carriage Court for Assisted Living Week

The community is invited to participate in the events being held at Carriage Court Assisted Living the week of Sept. 10-15.

This year’s theme is inspired by a quote from the poet Maya Angelou: “Family isn’t always blood, it’s the people in your life who want you in theirs: the ones who accept you for who you are, the ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.”

The week will kick off on the 10th with a Grandparents Day picture celebration. There will be photos throughout the building featuring the grandchildren of all of the Carriage Court residents. Monday, Sept. 11, there will be a balloon launch at 1:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Sept. 12, there will be a “Glamour Shots” presentation. The residents will have the opportunity to have their pictures taken using a variety of fun, silly and glamorous options. On Wednesday, Sept. 13, Carriage Court will host a pet adoption, coordinated and co-sponsored by Holly Cottrill with Heartland Hospice and Brad Adams with the Fayette County Humane Society. The purpose of the pet adoption is because pets are such an important part of our families and there are so many wonderful, loving animals that need a home.

On Thursday, Sept. 14, Cassandra Furlong will provide an afternoon of entertainment, featuring a variety of musical selections that are sure to please all. On Friday, Sept. 15, Carriage Court will host Angie Tackett with Heartland Hospice. She will be discussing the benefits of Hospice.

Please stop by any day this week and see all of the wonderful things Carriage Court has to offer to its residents and their families. Carriage Court Assisted Living of Washington Court House has been providing Fayette County’s assisted living needs for over 20 years.
