‘Rolling Rimples’ start new walking program

0

The Rolling Rimples from the Fayette County Health Department started a new walking program this summer to keep their teams motivated.

It was done on the honor system and anyone interested counted their steps and turned them into the health department. Jowanna Hood took it to heart and walked this summer! She counted 1,025,583 steps, so with that she won the $25 gift card.

Jowanna has lost 63 pounds so far and states that she feels like she has a new lease on life. She is enjoying life more because it is easier for her to move, breathing is easier and overall doing things in life is so much more comfortable. She wants to encourage anyone who wants to lose weight to get started!

The health department offers a program called Fayette Fat Fighters, which meets weekly on Mondays and is free. Weigh-in is from 5 to 5:30 p.m. and then there is a class from 5:30-6 p.m. that is educational and motivational. It is a fun time and everyone encourages each other.

Rolling Rimples is a program where nurses from the health department come to your place of business and weigh you. It is a four-month program and people get weighted once a month. If anyone has questions, please call the health department at 740-335-5910 and ask to speak with Jeannie Bihl.
