A Washington C.H. man was arrested for trafficking cocaine and marijuana Tuesday morning after his Yeoman Street home was raided as part of an Ohio Department of Taxation investigation.
A representative from the Department of Taxation requested assistance from Washington C.H. Police Department officers as they prepared to enter the home and serve a warrant at 1117 Yeoman St., according to police. Following forced entry at approximately 6:45 a.m., Clayton J. Shoults, 37, was found inside the residence.
Authorities allegedly found a large quantity of marijuana, cocaine, cash and documents inside of safes in the home. Documents and electronics were seized by the Department of Taxation. The drugs, cash and paraphernalia were seized by police.
Shoults was arrested and charged with trafficking in cocaine and marijuana within the vicinity of a school, felonies of the second and third degree. He is being held in the Fayette County Jail on a $70,000 bond.
The nature of the Department of Taxation’s investigation was not divulged. A representative from the department could not be reached for comment Tuesday.
