Wayne Twp Fire and Rescue Fish Fry – Sept. 28
Support the Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Association at their annual Fish Fry! Fish dinner is $10 and includes two sides and a drink, Fish Sandwich $8, Kids Meal $5 ($0.50 upcharge if purchased with credit card). The event will take place at Wayne Township Hall and will run from 12-5 p.m.
Drive-Thru Flu Vaccination – Sept. 30
Fayette County Public Health (FCPH) will host a drive-thru flu vaccination clinic on Monday, Sept. 30, from 1-7 p.m. at the Fayette County Fairgrounds. No appointment is necessary. Please bring an ID and your health insurance card. For a list of accepted insurance providers, visit faycohd.org or call 740-335-5910. The cash price is $43 for a regular flu vaccine or $94 for a flu block or high-dose flu vaccine. Assistance may be available for those without insurance who are unable to pay.
Metropolitan Housing Authority to hold meeting – Oct. 2
The Fayette Metropolitan Housing Authority will be having its regular quarterly and annual meeting on Oct. 2, at 2:30 p.m. at the County Commissioners Building, 133 S. Main St. 4th Floor, Washington C.H.
Retired Teachers Association meeting – Oct. 3
The next meeting of the Fayette County Retired Teachers Association will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3 at Grace Methodist Church. The social hour will begin at 11 a.m., lunch will be served at noon, and a program will follow at 1 p.m. The program will include a memorial service for all members who passed away this past year, a 50/50 Raffle, and a brief message from ORTA Representative. Lunch is $13 and reservations may be made up until the Friday before to Elise Garringer.
Live Music at the Elks – Oct. 4
Let the good times roll at the Elks Lodge #129 in Washington Court House, Ohio with live music from the Naked Karate Girls. Food trucks, beer garden and dance the night away. The event will run from 5:30-10 p.m. Food trucks will be on hand from 6-9 p.m.
“A Light in the Dark” Glow Walk – Oct. 5
Save the Date for the second annual “Light in the Dark” Glow Walk for Suicide Prevention Awareness. The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at Tony’s Welding and Fabrication Stadium, Miami Trace Local Schools.
Peterson Fall Fest – Oct. 6
State Rep. Bob Peterson invites the community out to his farm for the annual Peterson Fall Fest on Sunday, Oct. 6, 4-7 p.m. There will be plenty of fun for the whole family including hayrides, pumpkin chunkin’, cider pressing, kettle corn over the fire, pumpkin smashing, warm donuts and bbq. The cost is $25/person or $50/family. The Peterson Farm is located at 5564 Grassy Branch Rd, Sabina.
Fayette County & Communities Thoroughfare Plan Steering Committee Meeting – Oct. 7
The next meeting of the Fayette County & Communities Thoroughfare Plan Steering Committee, Key Corridors, will be held at 2 p.m at the Evelyn Pentzer Meeting Room, 101 E. East St., in Washington C.H. At this meeting, they will review and discuss the draft plan recommendations.
Yoga on the Patio – Oct. 10
Come join Indigo Roots for some outdoor yoga on the patio at Salty Broads! ** Rain location is inside Indigo Roots. The event will take place at 216 E. Court St. at 7 p.m.
