Washington hosts Miami Trace in dual track meet

The Washington high school and junior high boys and girls tracks teams hosted the junior high and high school teams from Miami Trace on Saturday, April 1 in a dual meet on a very windy and chilly afternoon. Due to inclement weather, the meet was called with a few events yet to take place.

The girls teams from Miami Trace won both the junior high and high school meet, while the boys teams from Washington won both the junior high and high school meet.

For the high school girls running events, Kaelin Pfeifer (MT) won the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.32, followed by Kierstyn Mitchell (W) with a time of 13.35, Mackayla Cartmell (W) 14.24, Bella Shull (MT) 14.49, Lydia Mootispaw (W) 14.53, Bailey Miller (MT) 14.91, Ebelin Navarette (W) 16.33, Brooklyn Picklesimer (MT) 17.02, and Laine Holstein (MT) 17.10.

In the 400-meter dash, Kamika Bennett (MT) won with a time of 1:05.40, followed by Allie Mongold (W) 1:07.04, Maggi Wall (W) 1:10.40, Kaithlyn Maquilling (W) 1:20.73, and Zandra West (MT) 1:28.23.

In the 1600-meter run, Madison Hayes (W) won with a time of 6:17.26, followed by Meghan Cory (MT) 6:28.40, and Ava Shull (MT) 6:53.41.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Jana Griffith (MT) won with a time of 17.50, followed by Morgan Cartwright (W) 17.65, Abigail Kovalchik (MT) 18.92, Kaithlyn Maquiling (W) 20.41, Zandra West (MT) 20.49, and Hannah Houck (MT) 21.91.

In the 4 x 100-meter relay, the Miami Trace team of Mary Pfeifer, Sydney Martin, Gracie Shull, and Kaelin Pfeifer won with a time of 55.76, followed by the Washington team of Aysha Haney, Mackayla Cartmell, Laurel Marting, and Lydia Mootispaw with a time of 57.32.

In the 4 x 200-meter relay, the Washington team of Kierstyn Mitchell, Morgan Cartwright, Allie Mongold, and Megan Mongold won with a time of 1:54.81, followed by the Miami Trace team of Mary Pfeifer, Sydney Martin, Gracie Shull, and Kamika Bennett with a time of 1:58.61, and the Washington team of Maggi Wall, Mackayla Cartmell, Lydia Mootispaw, and Aysha Haney with a time of 1:59.19

In the 4 x 800-meter relay, the Washington team of Madison Hayes, Kayli Merritt, Maggi Wall, and Alicia Navarette won with a time of 12:18, followed by the Miami Trace team of Zoey Blanton, Kimberly Pena, Ava Shull, and Meghan Cory with a time of 13:21.

For the girls field events, Kamika Bennett (MT) won the high jump with a height of 4’ 8”, followed by Laurel Marting (W) 4’ 8”, Avah Ruggles (W) 4’ 4”, Mackayla Cartmell (W) 4’ 4”, and Lydia Abare (MT) 4’.

In the girls shot put event, Sureya Lopez (MT) won with a distance of 26’ 6 ½”, followed by Hannah Cummings (MT) 24’ 4 ½”, Jenna Bainter (MT) 24’ 4”, Megan Sever (W) 23 ’1”, Khalia Smith (W) 22’ 9 ½”, Kaylin Hughes (W) 19’ 7”, Lynnie King (MT) 17’ 9 ½”, Haylee Entrekin (MT) 17’ 3”, Jordann Cockerill (MT) 15 ’5”, Brooklyn Picklesimer (MT) 15’ 10 ½”, and Madison Allen (W) 15’ 2”.

Lopez also won the girls discus event with a throw of 80’ 4 ½”, followed by Megan Sever (W) 74’ 2”, Hannah Cummings (MT) 70’ 8”, Jenna Bainter (MT) 63’ 5”, Khalia Smith (W) 56 ’6”, Kaylin Hughes (W) 53’ 10 ½”, Jordann Cockerill (MT) 40’ 7 ½”, Lynnie King (MT) 40’ 6”, Haylee Entrekin (MT) 39’ 9 ½”, and Madison Allen (W) 31’ 2 ½”.

The final score for the high school girls saw Miami Trace defeat Washington by a score of 45-33.

For the high school boys running events, Mason Coffman (W) won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.21, followed by Rocky Jones (W) 11.43, Taevin Brown (MT) 11.81, Matthew Colflesh (W) 12.10, Austin Thomas (W) 12.31, Jake Manbevers (MT) 12.37, Caden Shiltz (W) 12.51, Cody Gibbs (MT) 12.58, Isaac Hood (W) 12.61, Ethan Wycuff (MT) 13.16, Panth Shah (W) 13.74, Drystyn Cowman (MT) 13.81, Ayden Eakins (MT) 13.97, and Nathan Cockerill (MT) 14.45.

In the 1600-meter run, Eli Fliehman (MT) won with a time of 5:17, followed by Avery Wightman (W) 5:42, Josh Lewis (MT) 6:00, and T.J. Ooten (W) 6:52.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Paris Nelson (W) won with a time of 16.95, followed by Asher LeBeau (MT) 18.97, Bodie Gurr (MT) 19.77, Malachi McCullough (W) 19.81, and Ryan Smith (MT) 20.17.

The 4 x 100-meter relay team of Gabe Perez, Mason Coffman, Rocky Jones, and Caden Shiltz (W) won the event with a time of 48.49, followed by the Miami Trace team of Asher LeBeau, Jake Manbevers, Evan Mollett, and Bryson Wallace with a time of 49.59.

The 4 x 200-meter relay team of Rocky Jones, Caden Shiltz, Matthew Colflesh, and Austin Thomas (W) won the event in 1:41.07, defeating the Miami Trace team of Jayden Jones, Malachi Jones, Evan Mollett, and Terrell Statham who had a time of 1:43.64.

The Miami Trace 4 x 800-meter relay team of Eli Fliehman, Justin Everhart, Connor Hostetler, and Seth Thompson won the event with a time of 10:16.41, followed by the Washington team of T.J. Ooten, Avery Wightman, Randon Stolzenburg, and Christian Rio Amador with a time of 11:33.22.

For the high school boys throwing events, Rocky Jones (W) won the long jump with a distance of 18’4”, followed by Paris Nelson (W) 17’7 ½”, Andrew Young (W) 17’4 ½”, Shay Salyers (MT) 17’, Bryson Wallace (MT) 15’5”, and Jon Woolever (MT) 11’5 ½”.

In the shot put, Reece Self (W) won with a distance of 34’ 2”, followed by Miguel Utrera (W) 33’ 6 ½”, Jayden Jones (MT) 30’ 11”, Caleb Barton (W) 29’ 2”, Hayden Bartruff (MT) 28’ 6 ½”, and Terrell Statham (MT) 26’ 2”.

In the discus throw, Caleb Barton (W) won with a throw of 102’ 6”, followed by Charles Souther (W) 94’ 3 ½”, Reece Self (W) 93’ 11”, Garrett Guess (MT) 87’ 7”, Hayden Bartruff (MT) 81’ 03”, and Miguel Utrera (W) 71’ 4”.

The high school boys team from Washington defeated Miami Trace by a score of 62-17.

In the junior high girls running events, Jasmine Bishop (MT) won the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.15, followed by Jayda Jones (MT) 14.25, Lily Siler (MT) 14.27, Nora Morrison (MT) 14.52, Karleigh Cooper (MT) 14.67, Tanzyn Laymon (MT) 15.43, Ariah Huffer (MT) 15.82, Jaclyn Seymour (MT) 15.97, Kaylynn Hays (W) 16.00, Kendal Garrison (W) 16.42, Ciara Andrews (W) 16.69, Amelia Koutz (W) 16.81, Lynnon Haines (W) 17.36, Alessandra Racine (W) 17.71, Kamelia Tressler (W) 18.79.

In the 400-meter dash, Karleigh Cooper (MT) won the event in 1:12.40, followed by Elyse Day (W) 1:15.99, Emma Murphy (W) 1:29.76, Liliana Wirick (MT) 1:30.57, Olivia Houston (W) 1:33.20, Baylee Woodrow (MT) 1:38.34, Tatum Stump (MT) 1:41, and Kennadi Miller (MT) 1:48.32.

In the 800-meter run, Alison Reeves (MT) won with a time of 3:10.42, followed by Paige Fitzgerald (MT) 3:22.45, and Karlee Johnson (MT) 3:24.23.

In the 1600-meter run, Alison Reeves (MT) won with a time of 6:39.11, followed by Caitlyn Hayes (W) 6:55.01, Karlee Johnson (MT) 7:27.09, and Cailin Johnson (MT) 7:41.31.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Jayda Jones (MT) won with a time of 19.62, followed by Abigail Forsythe (W) 19.76, Victoria Peterson (MT) 19.95, Emma Hoppes (MT) 20.64, Keionnie Ackley (MT) 21.56, Emma Lyons (MT) 23.65, Kaytlyn Burns (MT) 23.84, Emily Parsley (MT) 25.59, and Kailyn Watson (MT) 26.90.

The Miami Trace 4 x 100-meter relay team of Ava Crank, Khloe Reed, Kilee Holt, and Sara Smith won with a time of 1:05.39.

in the 4×200 meter relay, the Washington team of Elyse Day, Eva Bennett, Emma Murphy, and Cherilyn Maiden won with a time of 2:11.32, followed by the Miami Trace team of Carter Lawhorn, Cali Connell, Madyson Jones, and Valerie Blanton with a time of 2:22.

In the junior high girls field events, Aubrey-Ana Creed (MT) won the high jump with a height of 4’ 6”, followed by Paige Fitzgerald (MT) 4’ 4”, Kennadi Miller (MT) 4’ 4”, Faith Newsome (MT) 4’ 2”, Victoria Peterson (MT) 4’ 2”, Nora Morrison (MT) 4’ 2”, Iyanna Brown (W) 4’, Kailyn Watson (MT) 4’, Keionnie Ackley (MT) 4’, Lauren Thompson (W) 4’, Ciara Andrews (W) 4’, and Tatum Stump (MT) 3’ 8”.

In the pole vault, Kiera Leach (MT) won with a height of 6’ 6”, followed by Lily Siler (MT) 5’ 6”, Emma Hoppes (MT) 5’, and Aubrey-Ana Creed (MT) 4’.

In the shot put, Aubrey Keaton (MT) won with a throw of 28’ 5”, followed by Josilin Steele (MT) 28’ 2”, Karli Wilson (MT) 22’ 9”, Kimber White (W) 20’ 10 ½”, Madalynn Dhume (MT) 20’ 5”, Emaleah Phillips (MT) 18’ 8”, Kamelia Tressler (W) 18’ 2”, Madison Justice (MT) 16’, Sophia Friel (MT) 15’ 6”, and Lea Wood (MT) 14’ 8”.

In the discus throw, Aubrey Keaton (MT) won with a throw of 54’ 9”, followed by Karli Wilson (MT) 54’ 7”, Kimber White (W) 52’, Josilin Steele (MT) 51’ 2”, Emaleah Phillips (MT) 45’ 6”, Emma Lyons (MT) 44’ 2 ½”, Madalynn Dhume (MT) 40’ 4”, Iyanna Brown (W) 37’ 11”, Baylee Woodrow (MT) 37’ 1”, Madison Justice (MT) 35’ 3”, Lea Wood (MT) 29’ 4”.

The Miami Trace junior high girls defeated Washington by a score of 84.66 to 24.33.

For the junior high boys running events, Kiontae Tyree (W) won the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.49, followed by Aden Osborne (W) 12.71, Caleb Brown (W) 13.05, Jadin Armstrong (MT) 13.53, Cody Taylor (MT) 13.63, Austin Jones (W) 14.15, Cooper Heidler (W) 14.99, and Leigh Joy (MT) 15.78.

In the 1600-meter run, Wyatt Putney (W) won with a time of 5:59, followed by Liam Havens (MT) 6:04, Corbin Dotson (MT) 6:19, Harper Dotson (MT) 6:31, and Ethan Miteff (W) 6:52.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Jared Griffith (MT) won with a time of 17.86, followed by Caiden Justice (W) 20.00, Bradley Forsythe (W) 20.01, Sam Pfeifer (W), 20.79, Eduardo Navarette (W) 20.93, Leigh Joy (MT) 22.29, and Bartolo Quetchem (MT) 23.26.

In the 4 x 100-meter relay, the Washington team of Austin Jones, Jackson Everhart, Leighton Anderson, and Caleb Brown won in a time of 54.94, followed by the Miami Trace team of Landry Smith, Leigh Joy, Bartolo Quetchem, and Joseph Rheinscheld with a time of 1:01.66.

In the 4 x 200-meter relay, the Washington team of Leighton Anderson, Sam Pfeifer, Caleb Brown, and Jackson Everhart won with a time of 1:54.50.

In the pole vault, Jared Griffith (MT) won with a height of 9’, followed by Cooper Heidler (W) 8’, Channing Wightman (W) 5’ 6”, Reed Miller (MT) 4’ 6”, Bradley Forsythe (W) 4’, and Wyatt Putney (W) 4’.

In the long jump, Kiontae Tyree (W) won with a leap of 16’ 2 ½”, followed by Jacob Rheinscheld (MT) 14’ 3”, Wesley Gibbs (W) 11’ 9”, Elijah Gullett (MT) 11’½”, and Liam Havens (MT) 10’.

In the shot put, Henry Killien (W) won with a throw of 39’ 6 ½”, followed by Anthony Burns (W) 32’ 11”, Jacob Hays (W) 32’ 4 ½”, Joseph Rheinscheld (MT) 30’ 10”, Matthew Barnard (MT) 30’ 7”, Khane Ross (MT) 29’ 8”, Jared Rivera (W) 29’ 7”, Garet Creamer (W) 28’ 3”, Brian Woods (W) 25’ 9”. The Washington junior high boys defeated Miami Trace by a score of 64-29.

The Washington High School track team is back in action on Thursday, April 6 when they travel to Ross Southeastern. Miami Trace competes again on Wednesday, April 5 at Waynesville.
