WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE — The Fayette Community Chorale (formerly Fayette Co. Choral Society) and the Clarion Ringers Bell Choir of the First Presbyterian Church of WCH will be offering a concert of sacred music from the Psalms, entitled “Make a Joyful Noise,” on Sunday, March 12 beginning at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church.

Both the Chorale and the Clarion Ringers are under the direction of Richard Glass. The Chorale is accompanied by David Penwell. There is no set admission charge, but free will donations will be accepted at the door.

The concert will feature several anthems based on texts from the Psalms and a new choral work by composer Dan Forrest called “Hallelu Yah:Three Psalms of Praise.”

The Community Chorale is very excited to bring this new work to Fayette County. It had its premiere performance in October of 2022 by the RiverTree Singers of Greenville, South Carolina and has been widely performed by community choirs since then. The phrase “Hallelu Yah” means “praise Yahweh” or “praise God” and is the opening phrase of many of the Psalms of praise.

The Clarion Ringers Bell Choir will bring its music to the concert through a variety of bell settings. One of the bell pieces featured will be the piece written by Cynthia Dobrinski that was commissioned by the First Presbyterian Bells in 2013 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the congregation in Washington C.H.

The Fayette Community Chorale and the Clarion Ringers invite you to attend the concert of sacred choral and bell music on Sunday, March 12 at 3 p.m.
