According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

Aug. 18

CPO Violation: At 1:31 a.m., the victim came to the police department in reference to a protection order violation. While speaking with the victim outside of the police department, the defendant was observed driving by the victim’s residence, honking multiple times. A traffic stop was initiated and the defendant was arrested.

Theft: At 4:51 p.m., officers were dispatched to Walmart in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with the defendant who had stolen merchandise. The defendant was arrested and transported to the jail.

Criminal Trespass: At 6:23 p.m., officers were dispatched to Carriage Court in reference to a trespass complaint. Upon arrival, contact was made with the defendant, who was previously told not to come to the business. The defendant was arrested and charged with criminal trespass.

Drug Abuse Instrument: At 8:56 p.m., officers initiated a traffic stop in the 400 block of East Elm Street. During the traffic stop, officers utilized K-9 “Edox.” The K-9 indicated on the front passenger side fender of the vehicle. Due to the K-9 indicating on the vehicle, officers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle. While searching the vehicle officers located suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia under the hood in a fuse box. The defendant was arrested and charged accordingly.

Aug. 16

Theft: At 7:39 p.m., officers made contact with Walmart Loss Prevention, which advised that unknown persons had stolen merchandise on Aug. 15. A report for theft was completed.
