‘The Book Club’ reads Rebecca Hodge’s works

A book club of the Alpha Delta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, which is simply named The Book Club, has recently read two books by award-winning author Rebecca Hodge.

Members of the club read Hodge’s book “Over the Falls” this past February, when the author visited The Book Club in person by Zoom to discuss the book. The members of the club found it very rewarding and thought-provoking to discuss “Over the Falls” with this very friendly and talented author.

The Book Club decided to read during their April meeting Hodge’s first book “Wildland,” which was selected by Apple for the “Best of Year So Far List” when it came out and then later received a Nautilus Book Award. The Nautilus Book Awards recognizes books that make a difference and inspire. The award is named for the nautilus shell, a symbol of wisdom and growth. The club would very much like at some point to discuss “Wildland” with Rebecca. Rebecca has also won the Women’s Fiction Writers Association Star Award. Her books are full of vivid descriptions of both her characters and their surroundings, and the characters are discoverers of their own life purposes.

Rebecca is an author of fiction, a clinical research scientist, and a veterinarian. She lives in North Carolina with her husband and has three grown sons. She loves hiking, traveling, and curling up with a good book on her back porch.

The Book Club is one activity for the members of Alpha Delta Chapter of the Ohio State Organization of Delta Kappa Gamma. Delta Kappa Gamma is an organization of women educators practicing and retired that promotes and supports women, children, young adults, throughout our communities, our states, our nation and our world with education and opportunities.

Members of The Book Club include Marie Fetters, Cassandra Furlong, Nancy Mowery, Sandy Sowash, Dianne Junk, Christine Eckstein, Susan Stuckey, Kim Bonnell, Debra Wing, and Cathy White.
