Fayette County Public Health recently released the following restaurant inspections:

Aug. 6

Jeffersonville Pool Concessions, 42 Colonial Drive, Jeffersonville, standard inspection. Violations/ comments: no issues at time of inspection.

Aug. 4

Sunny Maple, 5675 US Route 62 N.E., standard inspection. Violations/ comments: deli meat found without date marking. Perishable food kept in establishment more than 24 hours must be date marked and discarded within seven days for food safety. A pot of potatoes found stored on walk-in cooler floor. Food must be stored at least six inches above the floor to protect food from contamination. Single service plastic food containers found stored inside of a soiled kitchen cabinet outside of their protective sleeves. Cleaned equipment such as single service articles must be stored in clean locations or kept in the original protective package to prevent contamination. The cutting boards located on the deli case were found heavily scored and no longer easily cleanable. The surface must be resurfaced or boards must be discarded. A few storage shelves found rusted inside of the walk-in cooler and freezer. Surfaces must be smooth and easily cleanable. Soil accumulation found in the following areas: kitchen cabinets, drawers, floor, baseboards, storage room mop closet, The facility must be cleaned as often as necessary to keep it clean. All food temperatures were within the safe zone. Thank you. Several flies found flying around kitchen area and dead insects found in corners of kitchen cabinets. The presence of insects and other pests must be controlled to minimize their presence on the premises by routinely inspecting, cleaning and using pest controlling devices.

Aug. 2

Sonic Drive In WCH, 403 W. Court St., standard and Critical Control Point (FSO) inspections. Violations/ comments: the managers on duty were unable to successfully answer questions regarding food safety. The license holder must ensure that the person in charge is knowledgeable about food safety during all hours of operation. An employee was observed wearing the same gloves to process orders on outdoor screens, indoor screens, open doors, and prepare drinks using the cup as the ice scooper. Another employee was observed wiping their gloved hands on their clothing prior to preparing a sandwich. Food employees must clean their hands after engaging in activities that contaminates the hands. The manager was notified. No paper towels or hand dryer provided at the main kitchen hand washing sink. Each handwash sink must be provided with towels or hand dryer. Soil/ food residue found on food containers located on rack above warewashing sink, pop nozzles, and surrounding area, fry holding unit and kitchen counters. Food contact surfaces must be cleaned to sight and touch to prevent contamination. After cleaning they must be sanitized. The sanitizer for the warewashing sink was not dispensing properly therefore very little sanitizer was detected. A container of chili stored in the sandwich preparation cooler did not have a date of preparation nor expiration. Perishable food stored within the facility for more than 24 hours must be date marked and discarded within seven days to limit the growth of pathogens. the manager had employees date the chili during the inspection. Bags of food found stored inside of the sandwich preparation cooler without labels. An employee was asking the manager what it was, and they could not say for certain. All food must be properly labeled and easily identified. Soil accumulation found in various areas including: kitchen walls, floor, ceiling vents, walk-in freezer, storage room area, warewashing sink area.

Line Shack, 2432 State Route 753, standard inspection. Violations/ comments: no violations at time of inspection.
