Carriage Court to schedule visitations

Starting next week, Carriage Court of Washington Court House will begin scheduling visitations as the residents have had the opportunity to receive their COVID-19 vaccines.

“Our residents and families are all very excited about this and are seeing a light at the end of the tunnel,” explained Carriage Court Director of Sales and Marketing Beth McCane via email. “We are thankful that we had the opportunity to provide this vaccine to our staff and residents.”

Throughout the pandemic, staff of Carriage Court has strived to be creative and keep residents engaged, according to McCane. Memory Care staff recently made special pancakes the day vaccines were given—pancakes with unique shapes.

“Little things like this keep smiles on their faces and go along with our community goals—always striving for a warm, homelike setting,” wrote McCane. “Courtney Harrington, our Memory Care director, is continuously looking for ways to engage the residents and works with her staff to achieve this.”

Although the facility has been able to have activities with limited seating and social distancing, its Assisted Living residents who are not comfortable with this have not been left out.

Megan Bolender, the Carriage Court programming director, goes door-to-door to provide special treats and personalized activities.

“Our daily goal is to provide the best possible living experience for our residents. We are so blessed to have them with us, and our focus every day is to make sure they have a great quality of life,” wrote McCane. “All of these things that I have mentioned are under the direction of our Executive Director, Valerie Campbell. With her leadership, our community has continued to thrive.”
