What’s happening at Carnegie Library?

Fayette Soil & Water and Carnegie Public Library will present “Chris Rolands: A Natural Entertainer” on Thursday, June 21 at 6 p.m. All ages are invited to this free event at Highland House, located on the golf course.

Rolands is a singer, musician and naturalist who will entertain us with his original songs! Enjoy the longest day of the year with live music and lovely scenery! Have you experienced a “Fayette Field Trip?” The next adventure takes place on Friday, June 22 at 11 a.m. at the Deer Creek Dam! Attendees will meet at the visitor’s center at the top of the dam. This fascinating tour has lots of walking and steps, so dress comfortably! Then, on Saturday, June 23 at 1 p.m., meet at the Fayette County Museum for a special tour and scavenger hunt! Coming up: Stop by the library on Tuesday, June 19 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for “Resume Drop-in!” Job seekers are invited to join Mike Cooper from Ohio Means Jobs for assistance with creating, updating or polishing their resume. Stop in the adult department to meet with Mike for this one-on-one help.

In Washington Court House: Welcome to storytime! Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. is Preschool Storytime! This program is for children 3 – 5 years old, while Thursdays are Books & Blocks, for children 1 – 3 years old. Each week features a new theme! Siblings are welcome at either session. Also, each Tuesday at 11:15 a.m., the library will host “Books & Babies!” “Books & Babies” is a 15-minute session specifically created for our youngest patrons to look at board books, do finger plays, bounce on laps and explore. This early literacy time will introduce your baby to the library and the world of books! Thursday, June 21 at 4 p.m., children in grades 3-6 are invited to “Rock These Blocks!” In this Lego League we will work with motors, programmable Legos, and Lego Mindstorms! Join in on the hands-on building fun!

In Jeffersonville: As always, Tuesdays at 11 a.m., you are invited to listen to stories, play instruments, create crafts, and socialize with other little friends at Toddler Time! On Wednesday, June 20 at 11 a.m., all ages are invited to “Touch a Truck!” and touch big trucks! Then, On Thursday, June 21 at 2 p.m. children ages 3-13 are invited to the library to make, take, and enjoy a “Tie Dye” cookie!
