WCH all-stars blank Fairborn, 14-0

The Washington C.H. 12-year-old all-stars advanced to the District Eight championship game with a 14-0 win in four innings over Fairborn Saturday, July 1.

The game was played at the Little League field at Lewis Street.

Tyler Tackage pitched four innings for Washington, with a no-hitter. He walked one and struck out nine.

Washington had 13 hits in the game.

Jonah Waters went 2 for 3 with one RBI and two runs scored; Braydon Kettles went 2 for 2 with a home run, two RBI and one run scored; Wesley May was 2 for 2 with a run scored.

John Wall went 1 for 2 with one RBI and one run scored; Tyler Tackage went 1 for 2 with one run and one RBI; A.J. Dallmayer went 1 for 2 with a run scored; Tate Landrum had one run scored.

Mason Coffman was 0 for 1 with one run scored and one RBI; Bryson Sheets was 0 for 1; Cole Little was 1 for 1 with one run scored and Tanner Lemaster was 0 for 2 with a walk and a run scored.

Brady Armstrong was 1 for 1 with a double, two RBI and one run scored and Drew Guthrie was 2 for 2 with a walk, two RBI and two runs scored.

Washington scored all the runs they would need with three in the bottom of the first inning.

With one out, Tackage walked and soon scored on a single by Waters.

Guthrie singled with two out, scoring Waters.

Landrum was inserted as a pinch-runner and scored when Armstrong reached on an error.

Kettles had a single, but Armstrong was out trying to reach third base.

In the second, after the first batter was retired, May hit a single to left field. Coffman came in as a pinch-runner.

Wall then singled, scoring Coffman.

Wall scored on a ground out by Tackage.

Waters and then Dallmayer followed with back-to-back singles.

Waters scored on a wild pitch and Guthrie walked.

Armstrong hit a double that scored Dallmayer and Guthrie.

Kettles hit a towering home run to center, scoring Armstrong ahead of him to make it 10-0.

Lemaster walked and May singled.

Wall reached on an error that scored Lemaster and May.

Tackage singled before the final out was recorded.

Fairborn got their only base runner of the game when Korbin Long drew a walk.

In the bottom of the third, Little had an infield hit and went to second on a passed ball.

Guthrie singled, scoring Little.

Coffman grounded out, scoring Guthrie.

Lemaster was robbed of a home run when the Fairborn outfielder, playing at the wall, snagged a fly ball that otherwise would have cleared the fence.

Fairborn was retired in order in the fourth to seal with victory for Washington.

In the day’s previous game, Enon defeated Englewood, 12-11 in 7 innings to advance to the championship game on Sunday.
