WCH all-stars run-rule Enon

The Washington C.H. 12-year-old all-star baseball team made its home debut in the District Eight Little League tournament Thursday with a game against the Enon all-stars.

Washington won the game, 10-0 in five innings to improve to 2-0 in the tournament.

Tanner Lemaster was the starting and winning pitcher for Washington. He pitched 3.2 innings, allowing just one hit. He walked two and struck out 10.

Tyler Tackage finished the pitching duties for Washington with 1.1 innings, striking out four.

Washington had 15 hits and no errors.

Enon had one hit and committed one error.

For Washington, Jonah Waters went 4 for 4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored.

Brady Armstrong was 3 for 3 with three doubles, three RBI and one run scored.

Tackage went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, one RBI and three runs scored.

Tate Landrum was 1 for 2 with a run scored; Drew Guthrie was 1 for 2 with two walks and three runs scored; Cole Little and Mason Coffman each had one hit and Bryson Sheets went 1 for 2, driving in the ninth and 10th runs of the game for Washington to invoke the 10-run rule and seal the win with nobody out in the bottom of the fifth.

John Wall was 0 for 4, making a bid for a grand slam home run at one point, only to have his deep fly caught near the fence in right field. Lemaster was 0 for 2 and Wesley May was 0-1 with a walk and reached on an error.

Washington now advances to the District semifinals on Saturday back at the Little League field at Lewis Street.

There will be two games Saturday, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The match-ups for Saturday’s games were not known immedately following the game last night.

The District championship game is Sunday at 11 a.m. at Lewis Street.

In the top of the first for Enon, Wyatt Kaltenbach had a one-out single. That was the only hit of the game for the visitors.

In the bottom of the first, Tackage doubled with one out and Waters had an infield hit.

Armstrong drove in Tackage with a double to make it 1-0, Washington.

After a scoreless second inning, Washington posted two runs in the third.

Waters led off the inning with a home run to right field.

A walk to Guthrie was followed by a double off the bat of Armstrong that plated Guthrie to make it 3-0.

Washington had the bases loaded with one out, but did no further damage in the third.

Lemaster finished his stint on the mound with two strikeouts to start the top of the fourth.

Tackage came on in relief and struck out the first batter he faced to end that turn at bat for Enon.

Washington scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Tackage led off the inning with a home run to left-center.

Waters singled and Landrum came in to pinch-run.

Guthrie singled, moving Landrum to third.

Landrum scored on a wild pitch and Armstrong hit another double, scoring Guthrie to make it 6-0, Washington.

Armstrong went to third on a ground out by Sheets and later scored on a ground out by Wesley May.

Tackage struck out the side in order in the top of the fifth.

In the bottom of the fifth, Tackage led off with a single and Waters followed with a single that scored Tackage to make it 8-0.

Waters stole second and Guthrie walked. The runners moved up on a wild pitch and Armstrong then walked.

Sheets delivered a single to score Waters and Guthrie to make it 10-0, ending the game in accordance with the 10-run rule.
