The Fayette County Honor Guard held a Memorial Day ceremony at St. Colman Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Memorial Day. Veteran David Frederick, American Legion Post No. 25, was the master of ceremonies.

Father Mike Hartge and Deacon Reed Hauser spoke of the need to remember those who have given all for the freedoms we enjoy today. After a prayer and a response, Father Hartge and Decon Houser walked about the cemetery blessing the graves. Veteran Ed Fisher read a poem written by a veteran for other veterans.

The Fayette County Honor Guard offered a 21-gun salute in honor of those who have died, and veterans Larry Bishop and Zeke Zastrow closed the ceremony by playing TAPS and one verse of “Amazing Grace.”
