Reduced fees during Fayette Humane Society Spring Adoption

Looking for a forever friend? Stop by the Fayette Humane Society’s Adoption Center and meet a new companion.

Each spring during “kitten season,” thousands of kittens join the millions of cats already in shelters across the nation.

That means that right now the Fayette Humane Society has tons of cute, cuddly kittens and they are adopting them at a reduced adoption fee.

According to FHS staff, there are nearly 20 kittens and cats looking for a home at their adoption center.

“We have almost every size and color of kitten at our adoption center,” said Brad Adams, outreach director. “All of them are cute but each have their own personality. They are ready to be a playful feline in a home of their own or lay on the lap of a new adopter. It is always rewarding to know that you are adopting and giving a homeless animal their new home.”

All of the humane society’s cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, received their PRCC vaccination, rabies vaccination (if age appropriate), dewormed, flea treated, and micro-chipped. The reduced adoption fee for cats is $10 and $40 for kittens. The special adoption will continue through Memorial Day.

The adoption center is located at 153 S. Main St., Suite 3 in downtown Washington Court House. The entrance is located on the East Street side and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and closed on Fridays and Sundays.

The Fayette Humane Society is a non-profit (501(c)(3), volunteer organization. They receive less than 2 percent of support from governmental organizations and therefore must rely on donations, grants and fundraising to carry out their mission. The Humane Society is the only organization in Fayette County able to respond to calls about abused and neglected and domestic animals, 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
