Blue Lion tennis beats Tigers, 4-1

On a second consecutive quite windy day, Tuesday, May 2, the Washington Blue Lions tennis team hosted the squad from Circleville for a non-league match.

Washington beat the Tigers, four courts to one.

At first singles, Kenny Upthegrove blanked Dalton Herron, 6-0, 6-0.

At second singles, Jordan Behm shutout Grant Dupler, 6-0, 6-0.

Grant Kuhlwein defeated Dylan Brooks at third singles, 6-0, 6-1.

The Blue Lions’ first doubles tandem of Grant Mustain and Madalyn Wayne fell to Heather Greenlee and Syndeny Dowdon, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 7-10.

At second doubles, Jack Luebbe and Max Schroeder defeated Stanley Hang and Trevor Wellington, 6-3, 6-2.

In a j-v doubles match, Washington’s Tony Kuenzli and Sam Schroeder beat Jaci Greenlee and Timi Waters in a pro-set, 8-5.

Washington is now 7-7 overall. The finished the SCOL’s final season with a record of 6-6.

Up next is the Sectional tournament next week in Portsmouth.
