Panther tennis beats Indians, Falcons


The Miami Trace tennis team won two SCOL matches last week to improve to 9-1 in the league, 10-1 overall.

On Wednesday, April 26, the Panthers won 5-0 at Hillsboro.

On Friday, April 28, Miami Trace beat Clinton-Massie, 5-0.

At Hillsboro, at first singles, Juan Diego Navas defeated Andrew Gunderman, 6-0, 6-0.

At second singles, Seth Leach blanked Austin Pendell, 6-0, 6-0.

Ely Schirtzinger beat Gabe Gilliland at third singles, 6-4, 7-5.

Matt Fender and Thomas Bondi won at first doubles over Tyler Snapp and Ethan Snapp, 6-1, 6-0.

At second doubles, Adam Ginn and Todd Peterson won by forfeit.

In a j-v match, Miami Trace’s Nathan Taylor beat Spencer Rudy, 8-1.

At Clinton-Massie, at first singles, Juan Diego Navas beat Clayton Amburgy, 6-1, 6-0.

At second singles, Thomas Bondi defeated Drew Houseman, 6-0, 6-0.

At third singles, Ely Schirtzinger won by forfeit.

At first doubles, Matt Fender and Seth Leach defeated Zach Hammonds and Drew Keller, 6-1, 6-0.

At second doubles, Adam Ginn and Johnathan Allen topped Joe Hammonds and Mitchell Bill, 6-1, 6-1.

In an exhibition match, Miami Trace’s Devin Riggs played Drew Houseman and won a pro-set, 8-2.

Miami Trace is home against Chillicothe Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
