Voter registration deadline is Monday for May 2 primary/special election

This Monday is the voter registration deadline for the May 2 primary/special election, and the Fayette County Board of Elections is offering extended hours.

The local board of elections, located at 135 S. Main St in Washington C.H., will be open Monday, April 3 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

How do you know if you’re registered to vote?

1. You are a citizen of the United States.

2. You will be at least 18-years-old on or before May 2, 2017. (To vote for any issue)

3. You will be at least 18-years-old on or before Nov. 7, 2017. (To vote in the Republican primary)

4. You will be a resident of Ohio for at least 30 days immediately before the election in which you want to vote.

5. You are not incarcerated (in prison) for a felony conviction under the laws of this state, another state or the United States.

6. You have not been declared incompetent for voting purposes by a probate court.

7. You are registered to vote in Ohio at least 30 consecutive days before the election.
