Agents, Vipers start 2-0 in PFL

The 59th season of the Fayette County Pony Football League got underway Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Washington High School football practice facility.

Senior Division Games (5th/6th Grades)

AGENTS 21, RAZERS 0

The defending champion Agents picked up where they left off last season by defeating the runner-up Razers.

The Agents scored a touchdown in each of the first three quarters and had over 200 yards in offense, led by Traeton Johnson 117 yards rushing, a touchdown run and a point-after touchdown conversion. Weston Melvin had 74 yards rushing, two touchdown runs and two PAT runs.

The Razers had trouble moving the ball as they finished with 23 total yards in offense (27 in the air and minus 4 on the ground). Braydon Kettles was 5 of 8 passing with Braiden May his favorite receiver with 4 catches.

VIPERS 26, LONGHORNS 0

Jayden LeBeau scored on the very first play of the game from 60 yards out as the Vipers ran off with an opening week win.

LeBeau finished with two touchdown runs and 82 yards rushing. Rishaun Burns added 91 rushing yards, including two touchdown runs, a PAT conversion, a 17-yard pass and on defense he had an interception.

Caden Shiltz and Cayden Griggs each added a PAT conversion run. Vipers finished with a total of 217 yards in offense.

Longhorns were held to 30 yards rushing with Kylan Knapp carrying for 17 total yards. Jonah Waters was 2 of 8 passing for 16 yards with both passes caught by Korey Rudd. Rudd also had an interception on defense and Austin Etzler had a fumble recovery.

Junior Division Games (3rd & 4th grades)

Gold Panthers defeated the White Lions 14-0 and Black Panthers scored twice in the second half and came from behind for a 20-14 win over the Blue Lions.

Sept. 26, 2015 results

VIPERS 49, RAZERS 0

The Vipers (2-0) rolled up over 280 rushing yards as they won over the Razers Saturday, Sept. 26 in the Fayette County Pony Football League Senior Division.

Rishaun Burns had 180 yards rushing and scored four TDs, caught a 2-point PAT conversion and intercepted a pass on defense to lead the Vipers.

Tyler Tackage added a touchdown run and on defense had two fumble recoveries. Preston Reed and Jayden LeBeau each scored on a touchdown run. LeBeau also added a 1-point PAT and caught a 2-point PAT conversion pass. Cayden Griggs added a PAT run and on defense had a fumble recovery.

Razers (0-2) hurt themselves with four total turnovers in the contest as they were held to 66 total yards in offense. Braydon Kettles led the team with 31 yards rushing.

AGENTS 20, LONGHORNS 0

The Agents ran a total of 42 offensive plays and had over 260 yards in total offense as the go to (2-0) for the season. Traeton Johnson had two touchdown runs and a PAT run along with 95 yards rushing. Weston Melvin had a touchdown and a PAT run as well. Melvin also had an interception on defense.

Longhorns (0-2) had only 35 total yards in the contest. They were led by Kylan Knapp with 27 yards rushing.

Junior Division:

The Black Panthers go to 2-0 with a 6-0 win over the Gold Panthers and the Blue Lions defeated the White Lions 19-12.

9 a.m. – Gold Panthers (1-1) vs. Blue Lions (1-1)

10:30 a.m. – White Lions (0-2) vs. Black Panthers (2-0)

Senior Division

Noon – Agents (2-0) vs. Vipers (2-0)

1:30 p.m.- Longhorns (0-2) vs. Razers (0-2)
