MT girls 7th at golf Sectional

CHILLICOTHE — The Miami Trace girls golf team competed in the Division II Sectional tournament Monday, Sept. 26 at the Jaycees Course in Chillicothe.

Miami Trace was seventh out of eight teams with a score of 515.

The top three teams and top three individuals not on a qualifying team advance to the District tournament.

West Union won the Sectional with a team score of 391.

North Adams was second with a 445 and Westfall was third with a 448.

Lindsey Daniel of West Union was the Sectional medalist with a score of 88.

Individuals going to the District are Lauren Ragland of Zane Trace (92); Alex Gillette of Dawson-Bryant and Veronica Olaker of McClain (both with scores of 94).

For Miami Trace, Makayla Eggleton was tied for 27th with a 122.

Morgan Eggleton was 34th with a score of 127, Tori Riley was tied for 35th with a score of 128 and Lindsey Worley was 40th with a score of 138.

Forty-eight student-athletes took part in the tournament.

Other scores for McClain: Kendall Pollard, tied for 19th, 111; Chantel Landrum, 25th, 119; Elissa Grate and Bryn Karnes, tied for 30th, 125.

McClain placed fourth with a score of 449; Fairfield was fifth, 458; Sardinia Eastern, 6th, 464; Lynchburg-Clay, 8th, 640.

The Southeast District Division II girls tournament is Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Upper Landsdown Golf Course in Ashville.
