CHILLICOTHE — The Miami Trace cross country teams took part in the Aaron Reed Invitational at Southeastern High School Saturday, Sept. 17.

Blake Pittser placed fourth out of 175 runners in the high school boys race in a time of 17:42.00.

The Panthers, as a team, placed fourth out of 17 schools.

Unioto won the team competition, with Waverly second and Gallia Academy third.

Hillsboro was 11th and Chillicothe placed 12th.

Logan Elm’s Matthew Agosta won in 16:26.55 and the Braves’ Kiefer Mosmeier was second in 16:51.24.

Simon DeBruin placed 19th as a team member for the Panthers in 18:43.45.

Henry DeBruin was 29th in 19:15.61; Wyatt Cory finished 55th in a time of 20:53.83; Jake Atwood was 57th in 21:03.66; Cole Enochs placed 68th in 21:47.56 and Todd Peterson placed 70th with a time of 21:49.84.

Skyler Lyons was 134th in 24:33.59 and Matthew Warner placed 157th in 26:41.66.

Hillsboro’s Justin Scott placed 21st in 18:40.31.

Chillicothe’s Ricky Villereal was 22nd in 18:54.62.

McClain’s Seth Cross placed 124th in 24:01.26.

In the girls high school race, Ivy Beam of Zane Trace won in 20:14.88.

Chillicothe had a freshman (Laikin Tarlton) place second in 20:23.19 and a sophomore (Ella Cuzzolini) finish third in 21:18.52.

Unioto won the girls team event with 64 placement points to 67 for Chillicothe.

Hillsboro was 12th as a team and Miami Trace was 15th with 391 placement points.

For the Lady Panthers, Saylor Preston placed 51st in 27:44.11.

Kylie Pettitt was 71st in 29:23.07; Abby Arledge placed 83rd in 31:22.36; Kate Leach was 92nd in a time of 36:15.00; Mackenzie Munro was 94th in 36:43.32 and Kylie Munro was 95th in 37:10.88.

All of those student-athletes are freshmen.

Caitlin Ahrmann was 19th for Hillsboro in 23:41.42.

There were 137 runners in the high school girls race.

The Miami Trace boys team placed fourth in the middle school event (3,000-meters) out of 13 teams with a point total of 135.

For the Panthers, Bo Little was seventh out of 120 runners in 13:13.85.

Weston Melvin was 11th in 13:31.66; Mcale Callahan was 17th in 14:01.40; Jadon Rowe placed 22nd in 14:25.45; Kaiden Thompson was 78th in 19:19.86 and Wesley May was 85th in 23:25.89.

Unioto won the boys middle school team event with 56 points.

Cater Markko was first for Unioto in 12:21.23. His teammate, Clayton Lynch, came in an extremely close second for Unioto in 12:21.96.

Evan Siberell of Chillicothe placed fifth in a time of 13:01.85.

Jonathan Hatfield of Hillsboro placed sixth in 13:11.17.

Nathan Ernst of Greenfield was 22nd in 14:23.79. Greenfield did not have enough runners to post a team score.

Miami Trace’s girls team placed ninth with 216 placement points.

Carmen Enochs was the top Miami Trace placer, coming in 35th in 19:28.17.

Kandice Mathews of Miami Trace was 36th in 19:33.45.

Lorelei King was 42nd in 20:12.15; Makayla Barnes placed 50th in 21:54.22; Jamie Runnels was 53rd in 22:06.13 and Hajjar Elsayed placed 55th in 22:55.99.

Hillsboro’s Magarah Bloom won the event in 13:58.07.

Miami Trace’s next cross country race will be Saturday morning in Chillicothe.
