Cavs tennis beats Lady Lions, 4-1

CHILLICOTHE — In a bid to hopefully claim at least a share of the South Central Ohio League title, the Washington Lady Blue Lion tennis team played at Chillicothe Tuesday, Sept. 13.

Chillicothe won the match, 4-1.

Washington is still in line to place second in the league, should they win their remaining SCOL matches.

The Lady Lions are 6-2 in the SCOL, 10-2 overall.

At first singles, Megan Downing defeated Madeline Digges, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.

Anna Nestor lost in three sets at second singles to Clary McCloy, 1-6, 6-2, 4-6.

Maria Pickerill fell to Natlie Drotleff at third singles, 2-6, 3-6.

At first doubles, Sierra Dawson and Mackenzie Cress lost to Jera Copley and Brittany Harper, 2-6, 1-6.

Jen Richards and Beth Wilt lost to Hannah Harper and Heidi Arth at second doubles, 3-6, 6-7 (5-7).

Washington returns to action Tuesday at home against Hillsboro at 4:30 p.m.

The Lady Lions will play at Greeneview Thursday, Sept. 22.
