Lady Lion tennis beats Unioto, 4-1

The Washington Lady Blue Lion tennis team hosted Unioto Monday and won that match, 4-1.

At first singles, Megan Downing lost to Sylvia Gray, 0-6, 1-6.

Maria Pickerill defended the second singles court, 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) against Emilie Simonsen.

Sydnie Hall defeated Michelle Kerns at third singles, 5-7, 7-5 and 10-8. A tiebreaker was used in place of a full third set.

At first doubles, Anna Nestor and Sierra Dawson defeated Brianna McGuire and Macy Brudenbaugh, 6-1, 6-2.

At second doubles, Gretchen Milstead and Mackenzie Cress beat Neysea Edwards and Eden Grieshomer, 6-0, 6-0.

The j-v team had two wins to remained undefeated.

Beth Wilt and Brynne Frederick beat Bree Morrow and Monique Gonzalez, 8-0.

Payton Maddux and Jocelyn Trimmer defeated Allie Montgomery and Sarah Spires, 8-0.

Washington was at East Clinton Tuesday and will play at Hillsboro Thursday.
