MTMS boys track wins Hillsboro quad

The Miami Trace Middle School track teams took part in a quadrangular meet at Hillsboro on Monday, April 18.

The Miami Trace boys won the meet, while the Panther girls placed third.

On the boys’ side, Miami Trace led the way with 72 points.

Fairfield (Leesburg) edged Hillsboro for second place, 60-58.

Whiteoak scored 23 team points.

For the girls, Fairfield won the meet, scoring 83.5 points.

Hillsboro was second with 77.5 points and Miami Trace placed third with 41.5 points.

Whiteoak girls scored 18 points.

The Miami Trace boys took first place in six events, including two of the three relays.

Cole Enochs won the 1600-meter run in a time of 5:30.0.

Caleb Perry won the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.78.

Jaden Haldeman won the 200-meter hurdles in 31.4.

Andrew Amore won the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.63.

The Panthers won the 4 x 200-meter relay with a time of 1:53.74.

That team was comprised of Kody Burns, Keegan Terry, Simon DeBruin and Caden Sweitzer.

Miami Trace won the 4 x 400-meter relay in 4:19. That team was Caleb Perry, Henry DeBruin, Simon DeBruin and Cole Enochs.

Enochs took second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:27.

Burns placed second in the long jump at 15’ 3”. He placed third in the 800-meter run in 2:33.1.

Amore was second in the high jump, clearing 5’ 0”.

Branson Morris was third in the 110-meter hurdles in 20.54.

Sweitzer placed third in the 100-meter dash in 13.07.

Simon DeBruin took third in the 1600-meter run in 5:33.8.

Amore notched a third place result in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.42. He was third in the pole vault at 7’ 6”.

The Miami Trace 4 x 100-meter relay placed third in 55.22. That team was made up of Caleb Perry, Henry DeBruin, Simon DeBruin and Cole Enochs.

Keegan Terry placed fourth in the 100-meter dash in 13.67.

Perry was fourth in the 200-meter dash in 28.74.

Haldeman placed in a tie for fourth in the high jump at 4’ 6”. He placed fifth in the pole vault at 6’ 6”.

Thomas Haven was fifth in the 400-meter dash in 1:07.76.

Trevor Throckmorton was fifth in the 200-meter hurdles in 33.3.

Caden Bridges placed fifth in the shot put with a throw of 30’ 3”.

Colin Farrens tied for fourth in the high jump at 4’ 6”.

The Miami Trace girls had two first place results at Hillsboro.

Aubrey Schwartz won the shot put with a throw of 32’ 7”.

Sayler Preston won the pole vault, clearing the bar at 7’ 0”.

Abby Arledge placed second in the 400-meter dash in 1:11.15. She placed fourth in the 200-meter dash in 31.73.

Kylie Pettit took second in the pole vault at 6’ 6”. She placed fourth in the 1600-meter run in 7:12.72.

Miami Trace was second in the 4 x 100-meter relay in a time of 1:01.35. Those team members were: Shania Villarue, Saylor Moore, Hazen Jacobs and Lilly Litteral.

Miami Trace also took second in the 4 x 200-meter relay in 2:13.33. That relay was comprised of Litteral, Jacobs, Kate Leach and Arledge.

Leach placed sixth in the high jump at 3’ 10”.

Villarue was third in the 100-meter dash in a time of 13.68.

The 4 x 400-meter relay for Miami Trace took third in 5:11.50. Those competitors were; Grace Bapst, Moore, Mackenzie Graftstrom and Sayler Preston.

Bapst was fifth in the 200-meter hurdles in 36.95.

Olivia Fliehman placed fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 3:00.75. She placed fifth in the high jump at 3’ 10”.

Addy Little finished fifth in the 1600-meter run in a time of 7:15.25.
