Blue Lion tennis beats Panthers, 3-2

On a beautiful Wednesday, April 13, the Washington Blue Lion tennis team hosted Miami Trace at the courts at Gardner Park.

Washington won the match, three courts to two.

At first singles, Miami Trace’s Seth Leach defeated Kenny Upthegrove, 6-7 (3-7), 7-6 (7-3) and 10-7 in the third set.

At second singles, Washington’s Grant Mustain beat Matt Fender, 6-3, 6-1.

Third singles saw Washington’s Jordan Behm beat Ely Schirtzinger, 6-0, 6-2.

The teams split the two doubles matches.

At first doubles, Miami Trace’s Adam Ginn and Johnathan Allen defeated Madalyn Wayne and Max Schroeder, 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3).

Washington’s Jakob Snyder and Brody Morris beat Todd Peterson and Drew Stanforth, 6-4, 6-4 in the second doubles match.

Washington’s Jack Luebbe won a j-v match in a pro-set, 8-1 against Elijah Campbell.

Miami Trace is at Chillicothe Friday and home against East Clinton on Monday.

Washington is off until Monday when they host Chillicothe.
