Blue Lions beat East Clinton, 4-1

On a very cold Monday, with temperatures in the 30s and wind chill factors in the 20s, the Washington Blue Lion tennis team hosted East Clinton in an SCOL match-up.

Washington won the match, 4-1.

At first singles, Washington’s Kenny Upthegrove beat Paul Luttrell, 5-7, 6-3, 6-1.

At second singles, East Clinton’s Luke Mears defeated Grant Mustain, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.

At third singles, the Blue Lions’ Jordan Behm blanked Blake Bronson, 6-0, 6-0.

At first doubles, Madalyn Wayne and Max Schroeder beat East Clinton’s Travis Knell and Elijah Howard, 6-3, 6-1.

At second doubles, Washington’s Brody Morris and Jakob Snyder defeated Jaren Evans and Alex Pence, 6-4, 6-2.

The Blue Lions are now 2-1 overall, 1-1 in the SCOL.

Next up for Washington, Hillsboro comes to town Wednesday for a match at Gardner Park at 4:30 p.m.
