Lady Lion tennis competes at Wilmington

WILMINGTON — The Washington Lady Blue Lion tennis team took part in the Wilmington Tournament Saturday, Aug. 29.

All matches were played as an 8 game pro-set.

Brooklyn Foose finished in fifth place in the first singles bracket.

Foose lost 1-8 to Bellbrook, defeated Little Miami, 8-2 and beat Kings, 9-5.

Sofia Siscoe placed sixth in the second singles bracket.

She lost 1-8 to Wilmington, was tied, 4-4 before receiving a forfeit from Little Miami and then fell 1-8 to Miami Trace.

Mei Kobayashi was seventh in third singles.

Kobayashi lost to Kings, 1-8 and Miami Trace, 0-8 before winning against Hamilton, 8-0.

The first doubles team of Joshalynn Worth and Addy Newsome placed sixth.

They suffered a 2-8 loss to Bellbrook, then posted an 8-5 win over Miami Trace. Finally, it was a 4-8 loss to Wilmington.

At second doubles, Abby Rose and Abby Wilson went 0-3 with a 0-8 loss to Northwest, a 2-8 loss to Wilmington and a 2-8 loss to Little Miami.

Washington will play at Jackson Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
