Blue Lion tennis blanks Unioto, 5-0

The Washington Blue Lions opened the 2016 tennis season with a home match against Unioto on a chilly, mainly overcast Monday.

Washington won the match, 5-0.

At first singles, Kenny Upthegrove defeated Sam Smith, 6-1, 6-1.

At second singles, Grant Mustain beat Bane Adrins, 6-0, 6-0.

Jordan Behm won the third singles match, 6-0, 6-0 over Tanner Cizemeans.

At first doubles, Madalyn Wayne and Max Schroeder beat Brett Moore and Jacob Shuman, 6-2, 6-4.

At second doubles, Brody Morris and Jakob Snyder defeated Karlie Payton and Colton Morton, 6-0, 6-0.

The Blue Lions will be back in action Friday at 4:30 p.m. against Chillicothe at the Ohio University branch campus in Chillicothe.

The Blue Lions have four home matches next week, beginning on Monday against East Clinton at 4:30 p.m.
