Knisley named Special Mention, All-Ohio

One local high school basketball player has received Special Mention, All-Ohio recognition from the Associated Press.

Three other local stand-outs have been named Honorable Mention, All-Ohio for the 2015-16 season.

Washington High School senior Max Knisley has been named Special Mention, All-Ohio.

Knisley averaged 20 points per game, as well as 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals per game.

He shot 54 percent from the field, 35 percent from behind the three-point line and 80 percent from the free throw line.

Knisley was previously named First Team, All-SCOL, First Team, All-SE District (by the sportswriters) and First Team, All-District 14 (by the coaches). He was the District 14 Player of the Year.

Knisley has been chosen to play in the North/South All-Star game. The Division I and II North-South All-Star game will be played Friday, April 22 at 8 p.m. at Otterbein University in Westerville. It will be preceded by the Division III and IV North-South game at 6:30 p.m.

Washington senior Cameron Eckles has been named Honorable Mention, All-Ohio by the Associated Press.

Eckles averaged 15 points and 7 rebounds per game. He also averaged 3 assists and 2 steals per game.

He was a 54 percent field goal shooter and was named First Team, All-SCOL, First Team, District 14 and Second Team, All-SE District.

Miami Trace had a pair of juniors receive All-Ohio honors.

DeAndre Pettiford was named Honorable Mention, All-Ohio.

Pettiford averaged 14.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. He also averaged 1.5 assists and 2.4 steals per game.

Pettiford shot 45 percent from two-point range and 33 percent from three-point range.

He was named First Team, All-SCOL, Second Team, All-District 14 by the coaches and Second Team, All-SE District by the AP.

Blake Pittser was named Honorable Mention, All-Ohio.

Pittser averaged 12.1 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. He also averaged 3.8 assists and 1.4 steals per game.

Pittser averaged 40 percent for two-point attempts and 31 percent for three-point attempts.

He was named First Team, All-SCOL, Second Team, All-District 14 and Second Team, All-SE District by the writers.
