On the first night of October, the Miami Trace Lady Panthers soccer team hosted the team from Hillsboro High School in an SCOL match-up.

Hillsboro won the match, 4-1.

The Lady Indians led at the half, 3-1.

In addition to a talented Hillsboro team, Miami Trace was battling a strong breeze out of the north during the second half, which added to the challenge of moving the ball up the field.

“My girls played very well,” Miami Trace head coach Caitlin Zook said. “They played very hard. I am very proud of them for that.”

Miami Trace had its lone goal from junior Hanna Reisinger. Junior Lauren Truex had the assist.

Junior Taylor Barrett had 17 saves in goal for Miami Trace.

Miami Trace had three shots on goal for the game.

The Lady Panthers (2-10-0 overall, 2-6-0 in the SCOL), will play at Clinton-Massie Tuesday at 5 p.m.
