LEXINGTON, KY. — The Seyfang siblings from Miami Trace, seniors Katie and Wes, participated in the George Rogers Clark “Heavy Metal Throwdown” Invitational at Transylvania University on Saturday, March 31.

“It was a great opportunity for them to participate in this kind of meet with such high-caliber competitors from Ohio and Kentucky,” Miami Trace head coach Brent Noes said. “We were excited for them to be able to see this kind of competition this early in the season so we could gauge where they were at.”

Katie took first place in discus with a throw of 128’ 3” and she took third in shot put with a toss of 35’ 0.5”.

Wes took third place in the discus with a throw of 147’ 3” and he took fourth place in shot put with a toss of 47’ 8”.

Miami Trace is scheduled to compete in the Waynesville Invitational Friday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
