Lady Panther tennis beats Circleville

CIRCLEVILLE — The Miami Trace girls tennis team traveled to Circleville for a rescheduled match Monday, Sept. 21.

Miami Trace won the non-league match, 3-2.

Both teams played their Sectional tournament line-up, according to Miami Trace head coach Kim Schirtzinger.

Cassie VanDyke lost at first singles to Melanie Winter, 1-6, 3-6.

Shelby Mulford won at second singles, 6-3, 6-0 against Megan Frazier.

Macy Detty rallied from a set down to beat Rimsha Ansar at third singles, 2-6, 7-5, 6-2.

Bethany Reiterman and Haylee Higgins lost at first doubles, 4-6, 3-6 to Jinal Patel and Emma Waddlington.

Whitney Cockerill and Maddi Wallace won the second doubles court, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) over Emily Miller and Taylor Huffer.

“It was a great match for our players to practice some different techniques to use in the sectional tournament,” Schirtzinger said.
