Lady Panthers beat Ross SE, 50-46

Last season, the Miami Trace Lady Panthers hosted the Panthers of Southeastern High School (near Chillicothe).

Southeastern won that game, 54-50.

Thursday, Miami Trace traveled to Southeastern for another battle of Panthers.

This time, Miami Trace won by four points, 50-46.

Ella Skeens was the game’s leading scorer for Southeastern with 27 points.

For Miami Trace, senior Victoria Fliehman led the way with 22 points. Fliehman hit three three-point field goals and had six rebounds.

Senior Tanner Bryant scored 15 points for Miami Trace.

Also for Southeastern, Rachel Collins scored eight points and Skylar Hice scored six.

Also for Miami Trace, senior Morgan Miller scored four and sophomore Shay McDonald scored four points.

Junior Cassidy Lovett led Miami Trace in rebounding with seven, including six on the offensive end.

Miami Trace had a total of 20 rebounds (12 of them offensive boards).

Miami Trace had 15 turnovers to 23 for Southeastern.

Miami Trace led 16-6 at the end of the first quarter.

The Lady Panthers (MT) held a 23-20 halftime lead.

At the end of three quarters of play, Miami Trace was in front, 36-34.

In the j-v game Thursday, Miami Trace defeated Southeastern, 30-13.

Miami Trace (7-1 overall, 4-0 FAC) will host Washington (7-0, 4-0 FAC) Saturday at 6 p.m. to complete the first round of conference play.

In other varsity girls basketball action Thursday, Hathaway Brown defeated Chillicothe, 60-41; Lynchburg-Clay beat Hillsboro, 72-66; Logan Elm clobbered Hamilton Township, 73-23; Circleville topped Liberty Union, 51-33 and Jackson upended Athens, 51-38.
