Washington High School junior Megan Downing recently concluded play for the 2017 tennis season competing in the Division II District tournament.

Downing won her first match at the District against Logan Elm’s Kendra Risner, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4). Downing lost her second match to Taylor Fair of Carollton, 1-6, 1-6.

She was one match short of advancing to state.

Downing did not lose a Frontier Athletic Conference match all season and was the only member representative from the FAC to advance to districts. Downing was named all-league for 2017.
