Lady Lion tennis beats Lady Panthers, 4-1

On a very warm first day of September, the Washington Lady Blue Lion tennis team hosted Miami Trace on the courts at Gardner Park.

Washington won this SCOL match, 4-1.

At first singles, Megan Downing beat Bethany Reiterman, 7-5, 6-1.

At second singles, Anna Nestor defeated Haylee Higgins, 6-2, 6-1.

At third singles, Jennifer Richards beat Cassie VanDyke, 6-3, 7-5.

Washington won the first doubles court, with Sierra Dawson and Maria Pickerill beating Whitney Cockerill and Maddi Wallace, 6-2, 6-2.

Miami Trace won the second doubles court, with Macy Detty and Maddie Porter going 6-2, 6-1 over Gretchen Milstead and Mackenzie Cress.

The teams split a pair of j-v matches.

Yui Kobyashi of Washington beat Hannah Clemons, 8-5 and Miami Trace’s Shelbie Rowan beat Robin Courts, 8-2.

Washington is at home today taking on another SCOL challenge, this time from Clinton-Massie.

Miami Trace will play at Chillicothe today in SCOL action.

Both matches have a start time of 4:30 p.m.
