Lady Panthers beat McClain, 6-2

The Miami Trace Lady Panthers soccer team hosted McClain for a Frontier Athletic Conference match on a hot Tuesday, Sept. 26.

Miami Trace won, 6-2 to complete the season sweep of the Lady Tigers.

In the first half, Becca Ratlff scored Miami Trace’s first goal at the 20:21 mark.

With under six minutes left in the first half, Miami Trace began a flurry of scoring, putting four more in the net before halftime.

Miami Trace scored at 5:42 on a direct kick by Macy Creamer, followed by a goal by Magarah Bloom at 4:44.

Tori Morrison scored with 4:00 on the clock and Tori Evans headed in a goal off a cross by Bloom with 1:01 to go. Miami Trace held a 5-0 lead at the half.

In the second half, Ratliff scored another goal.

McClain answered with two goals in the second half. Khenadi Grubb had five saves in the goal for Miami Trace.

“As a team we played well tonight and it is always exciting to be able to walk away with a win,” Miami Trace head coach Caitlin Francis said. Miami Trace is now 3-4 in the league and 3-7 overall.

Miami Trace will play at home again on Thursday against Hillsboro at 5 p.m.
