Lady Panthers soccer falls to Cavs

CHILLICOTHE — The Miami Trace Lady Panthers soccer team traveled over to Chillicothe Thursday, Sept. 21 for a Frontier Athletic Conference match against the Lady Cavaliers.

Chillicothe won the match, 4-0.

“We came out very strong and played well in the first half keeping the score 0-0,” Miami Trace head coach Caitlin Francis said. “In the second half we lost some steam and Chillicothe was able to score four goals.”

Khenadi Grubb had 18 saves in goal for Miami Trace.

“I was very happy with how our team came together the first half tonight,” Francis said. “Now we just need to translate that to all 80 minutes.”

Miami Trace, now 2-4 in the league and 2-7 overall, will host McClain Tuesday at 5 p.m.

In other scores from FAC soccer matches Thursday, in boys soccer, Chillicothe defeated Miami Trace, 11-0; Hillsboro defeated Washington, 9-1 and Jackson blanked McClain, 3-0.

In FAC girls soccer, Jackson beat McClain, 2-0 and Hillsboro defeated Washington, 8-1.
