Lady Lion tennis splits FAC matches

The Washington Lady Blue Lion tennis team split a recent pair of matches in the new Frontier Athletic Conference.

On Tuesday, Sept. 19, Washington hosted Chillicothe and lost that match, 4-1.

On Thursday, Sept. 21, the Lady Lions played at Hillsboro and won, 5-0.

Against Chillicothe, Washington’s Megan Downing defeated Natalie Drotleff, 7-5, 6-0 at first singles.

At second singles, Brittany Harper defeated Jen Richards, 6-4, 6-3.

At third singles, Hannah Kessler beat Sydnie Hall, 6-4, 6-2.

At first doubles, Ali Grossman and Heidi Arth beat Bethany Wilt and Brooklyn Foose, 6-4, 7-5.

At second doubles, Emma Domo and Abby Pendell defeated Brynne Frederick and Payton Maddux, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.

Against the Lady Indians, Megan Downing defeated Jessica Moon at first singles, 6-0, 6-0.

At second singles, Jen Richards topped Breanne Fender, 7-5, 6-4.

At third singles, Sydnie Hall beat Abby Harmon, 6-2, 6-3.

At first doubles, Bethany Wilt and Brooklyn Foose beat Morgan Kemper and Julia Hart, 6-4, 6-3.

At second doubles, Brynne Frederick and Payton Maddux defeated Julia Hart and Johanna Holt, 6-2, 7-5.

Washington will play at Logan Elm Monday afternoon.
