Hillsboro tops Lady Panthers soccer, 4-1

HILLSBORO — The Miami Trace Lady Panthers soccer team visited Hillsboro Tuesday, Sept. 12 for a Frontier Athletic Conference match against the Lady Indians.

Hillsboro won the match, 4-1.

Miami Trace took an early 1-0 lead with a goal from Macy Creamer at the 36-minute mark. The assist went to Becca Ratliff.

Hillsboro responded quickly with a goal to tie the match.

With two more goals, including the conversion of a penalty kick, Hillsboro took a 3-1 lead into the halftime break.

“We came out strong the second half and worked hard to control the ball but Hillsboro stepped up again to score a forth goal,” Miami Trace head coach Cailtin Francis said.

Khenadi Grubb had nine saves in the goal for Miami Trace.

“We played hard tonight and I believe our team has tremendous amounts of potential we hope to unlock in the remainder of the season,” Francis said.

Miami Trace will be back in FAC action this evening at Jackson. The Lady Panthers are now 1-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
