The Washington Lady Blue Lion tennis team played a non-league match at Circleville Monday, Aug. 21.
Washington won the match, 5-0.
At first singles, Megan Downing defeated Taylor Huffer, 6-4, 6-1.
At second singles, Jen Richards rallied after dropping the first set to beat Melanie Winter, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
At third singles, Sydnie Hall beat Allyson Withers, 6-4, 6-1.
At first doubles, Bethany Wilt and Brooklyn Foose beat Graul and Timmons, 6-2, 7-6 (16-14 tiebreak).
At second doubles, Brynne Frederick and Payton Maddux defeated Shaw and Hinton, 7-5, 6-1.
“(It was a) great effort by all the girls,” Washington head coach Samantha Leach said. “Especially our first doubles team for pulling out an awesome tie-break win in the second set.”
Washington will host a Frontier Athletic Conference match with Hillsboro today at 4:30 p.m.
